At the 40th annual meeting of the members of the "Linava" association held on Thursday - the Congress - the work done by the association during the year was presented, the challenges of the past year and the realities of the present were discussed. Congress participants approved the annual activity report and rejected the 2021 report submitted by the Audit Commission. financial activity inspection report, indicating that it must be corrected within the limits of the competence of the Audit Commission. In this way, the Congress expressed its support for the value-added activities carried out by the management of "Linava".

Congratulating the participants of the annual meeting, the Minister of Transport Marius Skuodis thanked the President of "Linava" Romas Austinskas, for the coordination of aid to Ukraine and emphasized that he hopes that the transport sector will overcome the challenges facing them.

Speaking at the congress, the President of "Linava", Romas Austinskas, emphasized that although transporters have recently faced many challenges due to the closing of Eastern markets, rising fuel prices, a large shortage of workers, excessive requirements for those who want to work as truck drivers, the news that it is possible to recruit more workers from third countries gives hope. According to "Linava", it is planned to increase the number of consuls of the Republic of Lithuania in Kyrgyzstan, from May 16. the Visa Center is starting to operate here, which will facilitate the issuance of visas.

According to R. Austinskas, it is encouraging that good results are achieved by working closely with state institutions - carriers can apply for preferential loans, tax deferrals, and "Linava's" position is reflected in the press and TV shows.

Linavas General Secretary Zenonas Buivydas, who spoke at the event, said that the resilience of carriers and the professionalism of their drivers keep the Lithuanian economy competitive and dynamic, and the challenges posed by the Mobility Package will only strengthen Lithuanian carriers even more.

"The provisions of the mobility package completely go beyond the Green Deal and are primarily intended to push competitors out of the market of the old European Union countries. But it will not stop our carriers. We will adapt and become even stronger in Western markets and establish ourselves in new ones", said Z. Buivydas.
